On a bitterly cold winter’s morning, six Junior teams from Ely City Hockey Club played in the first of four tournaments in the new Cambs League on Sunday 19th November.
Hosted by March Town Hockey Club, U12, U10 and U8 teams from Ely City played teams from March Town, Peterborough City and St Ives.
Junior Head Coach David Carford said ‘The Ely City boys and girls played some great hockey. They definitely held their own against all the teams, some of which had a number of far more experienced players. They should be very proud of themselves.’
The next tournament is to be held at Peterborough City, where Ely City will meet Peterborough City and St Neots.
