Today’s match saw the return of Sophie Robb to the team, however after only 25 minutes on the pitch Sophie had to come off due to injury which later transpired she had broken her wrist!! The Ladies 2nd's also welcomed Polly Cooper into the team for her first appearance.
The warm up was highly entertaining with Nat Jones showing of some very ‘cool moves’ and shaking her hips like Shakira on Prozac! Nat’s new song is now ‘Hips don’t lie’ which was much more welcomed than the team song Gemma tried to inflict on the team. Suggestions for a team song therefore still welcome…..
Anyway, the match saw Ely go 1 nil down after about 20 minutes, however Tassie Ferentinos determination paid off to bring Ely back into the game at 1-1 just before half time.
Due to Sophie’s injury and skipper Gemma Neal still unable to play Ely were down to 10 players for the 2nd half. This didn’t cause Ely any trouble and with some really good play in midfield and a strong defence, Rhianne Jones was able to take an almighty strike just inside the top of the D leaving the Huntingdon goal keeper helpless making the final score 2-1 to Ely.
Oh and Beth also sported a dashing cardigan post match. The cardigan fashion show will take place in a few weeks’ time!
Player of the match was Aimee Cooper and Muppet of the match was Natalie for her ‘Hips’ warm up routine!
