Ely Ladies 2nd team chalked up their first league win of the season with a comprehensive 10 – 1 win away at Cambridge City. Ely started the game with some good attacking play but had a few near misses before Ellie Alderton scored two 2 quick goals. Tassie Ferentinos grabbed the first of her two goals as she slotted the ball in on the right hand post from a short corner routine. Ellie Alderton and Tassie Ferentinos both scored again before half time to make the scoreline 5 – 0.
City came out after the break with a slightly changed formation and pulled a goal back to make it 5 – 1. Ely came back strongly with Angelica Ferentinos adding a goal from a well struck short corner and Rhianne Jones beating several players in the circle before scoring. Sophie Robb also scored on her return to the team, while Ellie Alderton added another two.
Player of the match was Rhianne Jones for her performance in midfield and solo goal.
