So the time had come for ECHC L3's first home game of the season. A team of experienced and youth players rolled up ready to get stuck in. The game started well with Ely dominating possession and having the best of the chances. Cathy Tapley had a shot cleared out of the D and Captain Di Redman also had a good shot, but unfortunately no-one was there for the rebound. All in all a solid first half.

Team manager , Owen Carford, again gave the girls his pep talk at half time, and the girls went out convinced they could get a win.

The second half started well, however, Jess Watts was unfortunately hit quite hard in the leg (a special thanks to Lisa Dennis for helping her!). Goalkeeper Emma Blickem had some mighty saves and she was well supported by a "wall" of defenders with Sam Carford and Shukti Narotam playing excellently! So much so they achieved joint player of the match!

A great first home game and a well deserved point. Although the 0-0 score line did not reflect the talent of Ely!
