ECHC Safeguarding and DBS Policy

Safeguarding

Ely City Hockey Club is committed to providing a safe environment for all our players, coaches and parents. To ensure this we have adopted the England Hockey Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Hockey Policy, which works to provide a safe and enjoyable environment in which young people can participate in the sport.

Hockey’s values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline are all attributes we strive to achieve and install in all the members at the club.

As a club we have a duty of care to ensure safeguarding children is prioritised and each child’s experience at the club is the best that we can make it for them.

All our coaches and adult helpers who are involved with junior training will have undertaken a DBS check.

We ask that Quick sticks and in2hockey children are supervised and they should never be dropped off and left alone before training sessions/games start. If another adult has the responsibility to take home your child at the end of training please inform the coach before training starts. If any Parents/Carers have any issues or concerns they are advised to take them directly to the Club safeguarding Officer rather than the child’s coach via email: Safeguarding@Elycityhockey.org
